Yummy Homemade Grapefruit Body Scrub

How about a home made scrub to get you buffed up for the beach and leave you smelling luscious?

I LOVE to make homemade beauty treatments out of whatever we have in the fridge/pantry. Its highly enjoyable, I think this goes back to my childhood when I used to make "potions" out of everything in the bathroom cabinet! I'll have "spa days" at home where I whip up all my potions and slather myself from head to toe and I honestly think that all the natural ingredients I use at home leave my skin looking waay better than anything I purchase in a jar. Plus I have sensitive skin so I like knowing that I am using all natural ingredients on my skin and I'm not going to break out or get a rash : (

Here is the recipe for my "Luscious Grapefruit Sugar Scrub". Play around with the measurements, I change it up everytime I make it and I always forget to record how much I use of everything - I am still looking for that perfect balance!

Luscious Grapefruit Sugar Scrub
Almond Oil (this is the main carrier oil so use the most of this)
Avocado Oil
Granulated Sugar (just use as much to get the right consistency not too much so its too dry but not too little so the scrub is too liquid)
A squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a citrusy smell
Shea Butter
Cocoa Butter (The shea and cocoa butter add a rich creaminess but don't use too much or it will end up like body lotion - maybe 1/4 to the amount of almond oil)
Grapefruit essential oil (I use quite a lot of this because I love the smell)

If you find a cute jar to put it in it makes a great gift too - althought its so good you will probably want to keep it for yourself!

I have a ton more homemade beauty recipes to share which I will be posting over the summer so stay tuned...
